February Book Club (book)

Covered a box of almond roca chocolates with our paper from the kit.

Created a heart shaped accordion style book that features 10 things i really like(d) in feb 2008....

my fav songs, my fav movies, the books i am reading, my fav takeout....etc......

It was a short and simple book - had fun making it - my main goal - to have fun in the process..

I can only hope it's something my boys will look back on and go....... mom listened to that music? MAN was she COOL!! (one can only have high hopes for the future... :)

The Lone Star Cypress :)

This is the famous Lone Cypress tree in pebble beach, CA.... (17 mile drive) here's the funny part - my friend amanda was in town and we took the drive.... 17 mile drive.... turned out to be more like 17 hour drive with THREE impatient boys.... when will be done... how much do i have to count to..... you makin me grumpeee..... anyhow amanda came back to our home and was trying to explain what she liked best about the drive... and she called it the lone star cypress - maybe one of those "you had to be there moments" but it was really funny :)

just some texan humor since half my readers are from texas...xoxoxoxoxo

The Woods are in town!

Our friends from houston are in town visiting:) It's has been so cute to see the boys just pick up where they left off when we left. On the first night they all wanted to "camp out" together so they ended up in the gameroom :)

Here's amanda and brock on the choo-choo train at roaring camp in fleton ca. We went on a REAL STEAM train ride thru the redwood forest. It was loads of fun and the weather couldn't have been more amazing! Thank you lord!

Second stop was Santa Cruz Ca, where i went to school (college) and we made all the touristy spots.... best part manda liked was surfers and all the cool people walking the strip with their dogs! Second day was spent in monterey and carmel. we hit the aquarium, cannery row, pacific grove and the 17 mile drive - somehow we managed the kids in the car for a 6 hour car ride home!

Here is a BEAUTIFUL sunset picture we took on our drive home....

what's blooming in your backyard?

this a jasmine that my hubby planted along a iron fence we have. There are several in our backyard and the plants are doing awesome and climbing right up the fence as he had intended them to. Maybe he should have planted the flowers in the front yard for me? Anyhow if you are reading this entry, take a few minutes to see what's blooming in your backyard - be it the neighborhood you live in or the park down the street or your actual backyard. Yes, i meant to take the pic this way :) it's part of my resolution to view things from a new point of view.. cool huh?

This is the recently planted bradford pear tree he planted in our backyard. It's blooming! yahoo!

the moon

Funky pic i took a few nights back when there was a LUNAR eclipse.... I'm a cancer(astrological sign) and much of my moods are dictated by the moon. When I lived in houston, I was in a moon walking club a friend of mine put together. sub-sequentially, i got a lot of slack from my other friends about, it seems kinda hookey but it was really fun.
So anyhow, i dig the moon and we followed the eclipse that night and i really tried taking better pics but i really need and slr... anyhow enjoy a snap of the night's sky...
